#MinsGame Day 15
Into the third week and into some things that I’ve held onto for a long time. It’s time for them to go!
Here we have boxes of things I don’t actually own anymore, however since they’ve gone to people I know, that’s not a problem. I have held onto boxes for years for the perceived value that they’ll maintain if I sell the device with all its associated bits and bobs and in its box. While this might make sense if I’m posting it on or it requires carrying somewhere, it’s a lot of cardboard to hold onto for what could become a number of years. So they’re going. I also have a number of power cables and chargers for devices that I haven’t owned for so long I can only guess what they were. Time for them to go too.
Dan has got rid of more CDs. None of which I have heard of, because I’m a musical Philistine. I’m more conservative and ripping my CDs to my computer again. Although I have only bought a tiny number of CDs in the last 10 years, I also haven’t ripped them to my computer since then. I took a look and they’re all sitting at 128kbps. So I’m ripping them to .FLAC and ALAC before I get rid of them. That’s a small amount of future-proofing before I give away the hard copies.
