Gender and Employment in the UK
“Have we got facts? IE evidence I would love to see the percentages, their is a lot of skilled women out there…..and my wife worked from the bottom to the top so equality I think so,and work performance related, also there’s a lot of skilled women out there!!” I only believe in concrete evidence, and until you give me that I will not believe in hear say….and I’m not a sexist.”

This was a brief answer to a comment from someone saying there was no gender gap in the UK. I think it’s important to provide links showing this isn’t actually the case. Perhaps someone will read it and understand a bit more.
There are a number of different ways in which women suffer in employment compared to men. These contribute to just some of the inequality in our society. As with most forms of inequality, if you don’t live it, you’re less likely to see it. This is why it’s important that organisations are doing the research and information is being gathered and disseminated.
